How Google Ads work:
The Google Ads platform enables a business to have ads appear at the top of specific Google search results. It operates on a pay-per-click basis, where advertisers only pay when someone clicks on their ad. Each time a Google search is launched, advertisers have the ability to have their text-based ads appear at the top of the search results. Placement is based on the relevance of the search term, the amount the advertiser is willing to pay per click, and “quality score.”
Ads are shown in different locations in the search results pages, including at the top and bottom of the page, as well as in the Google Maps “more results” section. The more prominent placements get more views and go to the highest bidding advertisers. Advertisers set a maximum bid per keyword and a daily budget. Once their budget is spent, the ads no longer show until the advertiser re-ups their budget.

Google Adwords FAQs
Who should use your ad management service?
Professional ad management should be utilized by any business that doesn't have an in-house expert.
What is pay per click (PPC)?
Pay per click is an online advertising format where advertisers place online ads, but only pay if and when a prospect clicks on their ad. Advertisers set a limit on how much they are willing to bid (pay) per click and set a daily maximum budget. Their ads appear until the budget is spent.
How does pay per click (PPC) work?
Each time a Google search is launched, advertisers have the ability to have their text-based ads appear at the top of the search results. This created the unique ability to have micro targeted ad focus, and only put your ads right in front of people searching for your product or service right when they are looking for it. The placement of the ads are based on the relevance of the search term and the amount the advertiser is willing to pay per click. Generally, any business can “bid’ the highest amount for a key word and appear in the #1 position.
How is the cost per click determined?
It works as an auction where the highest bidding advertiser’s ads are served to potential customers at a cost that they set. Several ads are shown for most search terms and the higher bidding advertisers ads are shown. Generally, advertisers can get into the top position for a keyword (search term) if they are willing to pay more per click than their competitors for that search term.
Does it work?
Google ads will bring you customers. The 2 key questions are: 1. How much will they cost? 2. How much are the customers worth? Cost of acquisition is a variable that is impacted by many factors, including how competitive your market is, by your product or service, pricing, and your ability to convert leads to clients. Once you run a campaign, you will have data on the cost to acquire a client, then the question is, “What is a the value of a client?” If those two variables are favorable - acceptable cost of acquisition compared to value of a client, then you have a winning formula for Google Ads! The only way to determine these numbers is to run a test and see how the numbers pan out for you.
How do you charge?
We charge a one-time setup fee, to get everything set up (see below for what setup fee covers), and after that, there's a monthly management fee that varies depending on your monthly ad spend . You handle the actual ad costs directly with Google.
How much does it cost?
Google’s auction-style pricing structure creates a supply and demand environment so its different for every industry and it also varies geographically. To get an idea of how competitive your industry and area is, go to Google and type into Google the same thing your prospective customers would. (Example: “Electrician in Phoenix”). The number of competitors advertising (at the top of the search results and the bottom) is an indicator of how competitive it will be for your business. If there are 3 or 4 ads - they are indicated by an “AD” icon, that’s a sign that your area is competitive. The cost per click is also impacted by the value of the client you are trying to attract. High value leads (Real estate leads in exclusive areas, for example) tend to be more expensive and the cost per click can be $20 - $30 or more. (Of course, we can provide the current cost per click for your desired search terms in your area)
When you add the cost of the clicks (Ads) and our fees - the set up management of the campaign, we generally use $1000 - $1,500 a month as a guideline for the minimum monthly budget for Google Ads. (For the ad cost and our ad management fees).
